ON-GOING PROJECTS 1. Diurnal Center of Life Organization (DCLO) for children and young people with mental disabilities (detailed information is available Dr. George B. Apelian, an American Armenian, Member of the American and California Dental Associations. Thanks to his individual sponsorship in establishing a charitable dental clinic at the "Prkutyun" center. The clinic, since November 1, 2005, renders much needed dental care, not only to disabled children and their familes, but also to all those needy and poor of the Shengavit community. The dental clinic, during its first three years of service, did outreach to over 3,000 families who were living in poverty. Dr. Apelian's only whish was that, no needy and poor child should go to bed with a toothache. His wish has come true to many families of the Shengavit region. Dr. Apelian personally continues to direct the clinic's functions and sponsors all its expenses.      Since November 1, 2005 a charitable dental clinic has been functioning in the “Prkutyun” Center of Disabled Children and rendering service to disabled children and their families who are registered at the Center, as well as to members of families - beneficiaries of poverty allowance system of Shengavit district. Dear Dr.George Apelian. This is the time of the year when we are filled with feelings of cheer. We know that, thebsp the year 2008 was an overall difficult year to many people and countries all over the world. The ongoing difficulties and economic crisis have felt even more, here in Armenia. As you know, here in our center, your established and supported dental clinic continues to play it's humanitarian role in giving, dental services, absolutely free of charge. Today Board of Prkutyun Center (Salvation Center) of the Disabled Children and Young Adults the dental clinic's staff, and on behalf of over 3,557 families and individuals, today we come to extend to you, to your family in Los Angeles, our heartfelt gratitude, respect and admiration Since Nov. 1, 2005, from the date that you personally put our clinic into function, you kept on unselfishly sponsoring all it's operations and expenses. I just want to remind you that there are many of us who pray for you and for your disabled son. I am very proud to mention to you, that our dental team has met and exceeded the dental needs for almost 4,000 extremely needy individuals and families. Fewer and fewer of our wonderful children go to bed with toothache! Everyone who comes to the clinic receives great dental care with respect, integrity and compassion.
